Living Chapel

Inspired by the existing greenhouses used to grow Rosemary and other herbs for oil extraction, the clients wanted a small chapel building that could be used for weddings and other functions.

The light quality in the current greenhouse is strong but heavily diffused, and using smoked polycarbonate panels was an attempt to mimic this. A second layer of mesh underneath the transparent roof provides space for plants to grow and attach to – in future, the entire structure will be overgrown with indigenous creepers.
