On the dunes of Cape St. Francis in the Eastern Cape, the cliented wanted to retire in quiet and practice her art, while her visiting family with young children could also comfortably visit during holidays.
Built to handle the dual and sometimes contradictory conditions of privacy for one person with comfort and space for a group of six, the house features an oversized northern deck which leads seamlessly from the living room – an inside/outside living space.
With a timber-framed construction, single gutter and Zincalum steel cladding this home is intended to be low-maintenance, contemporary, and sustainable.
