Timber Barn

As part of a larger project upgrading facilities at the Rosemary Hill farm outside Pretoria, a new ablution facility was added to the existing and much-loved timber barn. After many weddings, parties, and other events; the need for a nearby and cohesive bathroom addition led to this project.

Designed to be minimally invasive, the new addition sits sensitively in-between existing trees and creates a new pedestrian route connecting the herb maze to the restaurant. Made with a similar design language to the existing barn, dark-stained pine slats and clay brick walls are combined to achieve a hand-made aesthetic.

Completed: 2017

Location: Rosemary Hill, Pretoria
